I have the l2900 with a L480 loader. Recently the hydraulic lowering (down) stopped working. I can still lower with by moving the stick to the FLOAT. Also, the UP position is now working only sporatically. Works in partial UP but not always in Full UP position.

Any ideas on if I need to replace the entire Valve assembly or is my probelem easier to fix.

Does not appear to be any leaks.

It sounds like a flow restriction, especially since the float will still allow flow. Check your couplings to make sure they are plugged in properly. Even if they are, make sure there isn't something stuck it one of the poppit valves. Sounds like a poppit is stuck. There probably isn'ty anything serious wrong with the valve. Just dirt or grime restricting the flow. ....
